Mapit Designer: Turn Complexity into
Simplicity

Mapit Designer enables you to map out
and communicate your complex decision-based knowledge
All our clients have similar goals:
they need to guide their users through
complex interactions to reach a defined result. Whether this
is in the production of an online self-help system, a fault analysis
system, running surveys, structured information capture, or guiding
a reader through compliance with an involved piece of legislation;
this tool enables rapid development of the user interface, or compliance
and capture instrument.

"Mapit is used by our Contact Centre Staff
as a questionnaire/decision tree while
attending customer phone calls. This software program is
very easy to use; and has improved
the compliance within large groups of people [in the organisation]."

Mapit is a simple drag-and-drop software tool which facilitates
the construction of complex decision logic in HTML format. The end-users
are presented with clean, clear web pages that show questions and
gather answers. The navigation is setup through simple visual techniques
such as dragging an arrow from page to page in the designer. The
general usage is in, but not restricted to, Customer Care and the
Support sector.

LTNZ have very rapidly encoded some of their more complex processes
including vehicle registration and driver licensing with the use
of this scripting technology.
Ministry of Education make extensive use of this technology to facilitate
self-help for many of their complex education-based applications.
Local Authorities use Mapit Designer as a guiding tool to provide
end-users with the correct Request for Service (RFS) in their councils.
Additionally, they are starting to use this software as a self-help
or trouble-shooting tool as well for IT-related issues.

The output from Mapit is a single HTML file that is used in contact
centres and customer services to enable customers or Customer Services
Representatives to self-help with complex decision making processes.
Essentially you get the expert to encode their understanding of
complex legislation and process into the decision tree software
and then you can deploy the output HTML into your Content Management
System.
If you are a user of our KnowledgeBase product then the native output
(Scripted FAQ format) can also be used which allows for further
online survey processing or the saving of the interaction into the
CRM (customer relationship management) database that sits behind
KnowledgeBase.
The Mapit Designer is sometimes referred to as the process flow
mapping tool as you construct a series of inter-related sections
that represent steps in a process, with the flow between the sections
based on decision logic.
